Zeer goed hotel. Nette schone kamer. Jammer van de rooklucht (unfortunately there was a smell of cigarettes...also in the other rooms).

I was impressed by the high standard of accommodation at the Merrion Hotel. It is some way from the city centre, but the test of satisfaction is this - would I book at the Hotel Merrion again? The answer is 'yes'.

We were very impressed with the Merrion Hotel. We stayed here between Christmas and New year. The room was very well appointed, even luxurious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There are two very good restaurants nearby, one traditional Czech and one Italian/Pizza, both of which are very reasonably priced. The main attractions and city centre are a short number 9 tram ride away from the end of the road. Single trip tram tickets can be bought from reception and multi day passes are available from metro stations. The breakfast was served in a very nice conservatory/restaurant. There was a good selection of sliced meats, cheese, eggs, bread, croissants, cereals, juice, tea and coffee as well as fresh fruit. We would definitely stay here again. Christiana and Roy

The Merrion Hotel was indeed a peaceful, clean and tranquil setting for our stay in the Czech capital. The concierge were friendly, polite and always worked hard to accommodate us, where necessary. Both my girlfriend and I thought very highly of the staff, especially Andre, who regularly talked to us in the early hours! Unfortunately, i understand the opening date for the Hotel was delayed from October 2006 to December 2006, this may well be the reason that during our stay the Hotel Restaurant and Bar were not fully completed and therefore we could not get a drink/room service. The Hotel was still undergoing maintenance. Although, the restaurant and bar area we did see partly and it looked like it would be very sophisticated and modern once it had been completed. We would like to highlight, however, the website states Hotel Merrion is a mere 15 minute walk to the local and main 'attractions'. However, from Hotel Merrion to The Old Town Square/Wenceslas, etc it is AT LEAST a 20 minute BUS journey, so we're talking about 45 minute walk. The Hotel, as said before, is clean and tidy, however, the nearby location the Hotel is situated in can seem run down and sleazy - unfortunately the large street around the corner from Hotel Merrion is full of bars, casinos and strip clubs. On the whole, we found the accommodation lovely, clean and very modern. The bathroom came with both bath and shower and included hairdryer, heated towel rails and enough body/face towels. The room included an LCD television, although the majority of channels were either in what seemed to be Czech or French. We would recommend this Hotel to people visiting the Czech capital, however the main factor to consider is the 20 minute bus journey/45 minute walk to Old Town Square. If this does not bother you, then you should be more than happy with this Hotel. Paul and Laura
