Mecca Prague

A grand music club whose reputation is based on rich celebrity guests was established five years ago in the area of an old Holešovice factory. A part of the club is a café and a restaurant, offering fish dishes and Italian food, with beautiful interior, a large fish aquarium and modern art on the walls. The prices are relatively low, you can have have a regular meal fro 150 crowns.
The club area itself is very big with the famous chill out C-Lounge in the lowest floor. But the club’s decoration changes from event to event and has already gone through two reconstructions, so trying to describe it wouldn’t be of much help.
Apart from regulars like DJ Trava and DJ Loutka, techno and house-oriented Mecca has had many international DJ stars, including Armand van Helden or Pete Heller. While shooting movies in Prague, celebrities like Wesley Snipes or Heath Ledger liked to visit Mecca. The average entrance fee is 200 crowns, ladies can usually enter for free before 11 pm. Although the atmosphere is a bit snobbish and the prices at the club bar are relatively high (30 crowns for a small beer), tourists like Mecca for its international flavor and a very high standard.
