Old Town Hall
Built by John of Louxembourg, father of Charles IV and never present Czech King, it housed the town council. Some of its parts, like the Gothic chapel, were destroyed by the Nazis in 1945 and were later reconstructed. Possibly the best known element of the Old Town Square, and a prominent part of the Old Town Hall tower is Orloj. Constructed in 1410, it has three parts – the processions of the Apostles, peeking in and out of the clock’s upper part, the Astronomical clock and a calendar. USEFUL LINKS |
