Built on the site of a Romanesque church, this Gothic building dominates the square and its beautiful steeples are 80 meters high. What used to be the main Hussite church in Prague was turned into a Catholic site after the Religious conflicts in the 17th century. With Roccoco and Baroque interior decoration, it contains the grave of a world-known Danish astronomer, Tycho de Brahe, who worked at the court of Emperor Rudolph II and joined forces with another famous scientist, Nicolaus Copernicus.
