Celetná StreetA beautiful street leading from the Old Town Square to the Prague’s Powder Gate is a smaller version of Prague. A historically and architectonically bizarre mixture of all styles, with shopping zones, faculties, small cafés, massage salons, fast food restaurants and much more, its chaotic atmosphere symbolizes the rush of the big city that is Prague. Back to architecture, apart from amazing houses that were built by rich townsmen somewhere in the Renaissance and Baroque period, possibly the most striking building is the House at the Black Madonna with its cubist façade only confirming Prague’s love for modern art. It is one of the National Gallery’s sites and hosts a permanent exhibition of Czech cubist painters. USEFUL LINKS |
