Bethlehem Chapel

What we see today is a mere reconstruction of the original 14th century church in which Jan Hus preached and sparked the Hussite Movement. After the White Mountain battle in 1620 it was handed to the Jesuit order and was completely destroyed as a demonstrative act of catholicization. According to the old graphics of the chapel, the building was reconstructed after the Second World War. Today it is a place where Charles University graduates receive their degrees and a traditional monument of an important era of Czech history.
