Prague Old Town

As is obvious from the name, OId Town is the oldest part of the Prague city, gaining its prominent status when Charles IV established the New Town in 14th century. Soon after this, the manufacturers, salesmen and newcomers moved to the New Town, leaving the older part of Prague with nobles, bureaucrats, lawyers, students and the rest of the city’s elite. Today, Old Town is historically the most interesting part of the Prague City and has the most monuments. Its centre has always been the beautiful Old Town Square with its Astronomical Clock and Old Town Hall.
