Wenceslas Square
A part of the Charles IVNew Town was formerly a horse market. Today, it is an area full of shops, offices, hotels, restaurants and cafés. But when one looks carefully at the tall buildings enclosing the 750 m long Wenceslas square, he can see Classical, Art Nouveau and even Neo-Gothic facades. However, the interesting part of this Prague’s main location is not the architecture, including the famous statue of St Wenceslas, but the historical events that happened on this very location, including the invasion of the Warsaw Pact tanks after the Prague Spring in 1968 and many more.
