Church of Our Lady Victorious

This Early Baroque church was built on the site of a demolished the Hussite Church. The motive was clear – after the White Mountain battle in 1620, Habsburg ruler Ferdinand II decided to bring back the Catholic religion to mainly protestant Prague city and started tearing down protestant church buildings. In this Catholic monument, the miraculous Infant Child of Prague can be found, sent to Prague by the Spanish Habsburgs in 1628. The church is, of course, visited by many tourists from Spain.
