Charles BridgeBuilt by and named after Charles IV, it could be the most famous bridge in Europe and is symbol of Prague alongside the Prague Castle. Charles Bridge connects the Lesser Town with Old Town and is a typical Gothic monument of the Carlovingian Prague. Its statues, thirty of them, are from Baroque period, some of them now replaced by copies. The beautiful Old Town Tower leading the bridge towards the Old Town was designed by Peter Parler, the most important architect of the Gothic period. )
