The Convent of Saint Agnes

Saint Agnes, sister of King Wenceslas I (not to be mistaken with Saint Wenceslas), was a very charitable woman and founded a convent in 1234 combined with a hospital, where she took care of the poor and sick. With two churches, Saint Salvator Church with the tomb of St Agnes, and Saint Francis Church, where her brother was buried, it is more of a historical than an architecture monument. Today it is a part of the Prague’s National Gallery and houses a collection of European medieval art, one of the most complete ones in Europe.
