Founded by Rabbi Pinkas in the 15th century, it was rebuilt and renovated many times. Today, like many of the Prague synagogues, it serves as a memorial to the victims of the Nazi regime in Czechoslovakia. Their names are inscribed on a large walls and the sad atmosphere is only completed with a collections of artwork by children from Terezín, a concentration camp on the North of Czech Republic.
