Mihulka Powder Tower

Built for defense purposes at the end of the 15th century, it later became a workshop for castle’s cannon and bell-maker. Its mysterious atmosphere turned it into a laboratory for alchemists during the reign of Princess Libuše (1576 – 1612), witnessing the astonishing chemical experiments of the Renaissance Rudolfinian Prague. Today it is, of course, a museum of alchemy, bell and cannon forging, also hosting a display of Renaissance life in the Prague Castle.
