Golden Lane
Named after the goldsmiths who lived here in the 17th century, Golden Lane contrasts the austere Gothic architecture with its tiny colorful houses and built right into the arches of the Prague Castle walls. In the 18th and 19th century, this area was inhabited by squatters, to later become a place where poor writers and poets could work. It was the home of big literature names like Franz Kafka or Nobel Prize Winning poet Jaroslav Seifert. Most of the houses are souvenir shops and small manufacture museums today. USEFUL LINKS |
