Josefov, the Jewish Town of Prague

The Jewish quarter, named after Emperor Joseph II, who helped spread religious tolerance, is built on the remains of the former Jewish ghetto of Prague. Today’s Jewish community in Prague has lost many members during the Second World War holocaust, but has many organizations that help people to acknowledge the existence and importance of the Jewish factor in Prague history.
